Solstice Festival 2003 to 2008
2008 was our 6th annual Parkland Solstice Festival.  We've come a long way from our temporary, portable stage in 2003 to our current mainstage.  Solstice 2003 was a great beginning to our annual community event.  A handful of hardy volunteers and  a featured performance by the Co-Dependants with Billy Cowsill paved the way.  We sold a couple of hotdogs, maybe a few beverages, had our inaugural Disc Golf tournament and that was pretty much it.  Oh yeah, we all got locked INTO the park at the end.  But the seeds were sown for future festivals.

Each year has brought additional events and improvement on those already in place.  Our DISC GOLF TOURNAMENT and FAMILY FUN RUN provide an opportunity to get active during the day.  SOLSTICE KIDSTUFF provides a place for families to play and socialize.  We support and encourage local Parkland artisans in our ART SHOW & SALE.  This is an opportunity to show their stuff to a large crowd that perhaps otherwise would not be available to them.  Our CLASSIC CAR SHOW provides car-buffs in the neighborhood a chance to show off their pride and joy.  The addition of a variety of MUSICAL WORKSHOPS to our event schedule has provided an whole new element to our Festival.

The premier event of our Solstice Festival continues to be the LIVE MUSIC that we are fortunate to bring to our community residents.  Our photo gallery bears witness to this amazing talent. Below are photos from 2003 to 2007; the sidebar has links to 2008.
